So much has happened since April, my blog seems to have fallen behind. I’m in the process of editing together some samples of what I’ve been up to. Anyway in the mean time have a look at this lovely wet plate I shot today.
Wet plate collodion, what is wet plate collodion ?
I started my career processing film by hand and I have recently started to explore analogue photography again. From the late 1980’s into the 1990’s I shot and processed film exclusively – then what seemed like over night I swapped to digital and never really looked back. The ability of instantly viewing your images along ‘easy’ editing and quick transferal seemed like the logical way forward. samsung galaxy s9 edge release dateAnyway roll onto 2016 and I though I would revisit the past and I am so glad I did, I have rediscovered the joy and excitement of shooting and waiting and processing images once again. Now in 2017 I have tried a process which I have never done, wet plate collodion. Its a very old technique which has been around since the 1850’s.
Below are some samples of wet plate collodion that I shot of my friend Tim. These were shot on an old 10×8″ studio camera. The images were taken on glass (10×8″) and appear to the eye as negative images, they have been scanned and reversed, there is absolutely no retouching or Photoshop work done on these they are ‘as shot in camera’. I love everything about them, their tonality their contrast the way they show all the flaws of the process, the borders and processing marks add to their quality.by
This week I have added to my skill set by passing my theory exam to become a drone pilot. This is the first stage at becoming approved by the CAA as a National Qualified Entity (NQE) on completion of my Commercial Drone Operations Training (C-DOT) and to become a confident, fully qualified multi-rotor drone pilot.
This means that soon I will be able to offer clients unique high resolution images & 4k video shot from the sky.gbwhatsapp 5.20 download Gaining the certification also means I will be fully insured to operate safely & legally.by

Great to see the E-Car Club arrive in Stevenage, and in partnership with Steveange Borough Council.
I was out Friday doing some press shots, in the snow, for the new E-Car Club arrival in Stevenage.
E-Car Club say “By operating an ever-expanding fleet of new, high spec electric vehicles across the UK, E-Car provides a low cost travel option for those who don’t need a car of their own, all of the time”
I went out early this morning hoping to get some drone practice but the fog was to thick and so my flight distance was restricted. I did however manage to fly above the fog (120 meters) to capture this panoramic.by
I took my drone out today to do some more field tests. It was great fun flying round the fields, although the wind speed was quite high so I was restricted to height/distance. I flew about 100m high and about 500m distance.by
